What the code does
How it works
Chord is a token launchpad on Robinhood Chain built on Uniswap v4. It has four contracts and no owner. Everything below is what the code does, not what a page promises.
The chord is the hook
A Uniswap v4 pool can name a hook contract that runs before and after every swap. On Chord the coin is that contract: one body that is an ERC20 (with EIP-2612 permit), the hook of its own pool, and three tills. Its hook permissions are before-initialize, before-swap and after-swap, each returning a delta. There are no liquidity hooks at all, which is why the position can be added to or pulled through Uniswap without asking anyone.
The chord’s owner is the zero address from the first block: the constructor takes ownership and renounces it in the same breath, so owner() answers and answers nothing. No mint after the play, no pause, no blocklist, no transfer tax, no address that can be changed.
The tip: 1%, in ETH, into three tills
Every swap in the home pool pays 1% of its ETH side. A buyer’s ETH is tipped off the top before the pool sees it; a seller’s ETH is sliced on the way out. The tip never leaves the PoolManager as loose ETH: the chord mints itself an ERC-6909 claim for it and books it into three tills: artist 80% (whoever played it), hall 10% and label 10%. Only a till’s payee can cash it out, and cashing out is the only thing that turns the claim into ETH.
The opening: 1.76 ETH, every time
Every pool opens on the same tick, the one where one billion chords are worth 1.76 ETH. The stage mints a single position from that tick down to the lowest tick there is, holding the entire supply on the chord side. There is no price feed, no signer and no curve: the opening is a constant in the source.
The root is open, and the vault holds it
The position NFT is minted to the Chord vault wallet, an ordinary account. It is not burnt and it is not locked. The vault can pull the liquidity, add to it or transfer the NFT through Uniswap’s own PositionManager whenever it chooses, and the chord’s hook will not stop it. Every chord page reads the position live and says whether it is intact. Trade with that in mind.
Playing
Anyone can play. The stage deploys the chord with CREATE2 using a salt your browser mines so the address carries the hook flags, opens the pool, sets the root, and sends any rounding dust to the vault, all in one transaction. The label plays its own chord, $CHORD, exactly once. Playing costs gas and nothing else.
Contracts
- Chord — the coin: ERC20 + permit, hook, tills.
- Tuning — the opening tick and liquidity, a library.
- Stage — plays chords; keeps a record per chord and the position id; immutable.
- Amp — the router this site trades through; any v4 router can trade the same pools.
